Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 Geekbench Scores: What's the Difference?

We now have some solid benchmark tests courtesy of Laptop Mag that provide us with new insight into the performance of Samsung's latest flagship devices. For the benchmark tests, Laptop Mag used an ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime, which is powered by Tegra 3, and put it up against the Galaxy S6 in GLBenchmark 2.1, Geekbench, and browsers' benchmarks with Sunspider and Peacekeeper.

Nvidia was quick to question the slide displayed by Samsung onstage, which did not provide any specific benchmark data. During the product's unveiling, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller talked about the new chip noting that it provides four times the performance of Tegra 3.

The Galaxy S6 features a dual-core A5x processor and quad-core graphics inside. On the other hand, rumors suggest that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 might feature a Helio X20 processor with 10 cores and 4GB RAM, running on Android 5.1.1. The device's benchmark information shows impressive scores in Geekbench, which could indicate a significant performance boost.

Although there's still plenty of reason to be skeptical about the rumors surrounding the Galaxy S7, it's at least interesting to see these reports crop up repeatedly about the same device. With all this uncertainty surrounding the launch date and specifications, it's worth taking any speculation or leaks with a healthy dose of skepticism.
